Alison -

So many great points in your podcast!

From Self Motivation to "setting boundaries when working for yourself" (knowing that at some point you have to STOP working at night!)

Your point about spending time with your kids was terrific as well. I have really enjoyed that aspect of doing VO fulltime. The ability to be a dad to my 3 year old son more, allow my wife to do more work, and to grow my own business. Quality of Life - What a concept!

Plus, I like the way you say the word "schedule". :)

Thanks for the podcast!

Stu Gray

Alison --

Your advice truly resonates with me and I'm sure will be helpful to many others as well, especially those with young children at home. I also agree wholeheartedly with your advice on having a mentor -- as finding one has been the single most valuable thing I've done to assure my continued growth and stay motivated.

Thanks for taking the time to share your tips with us.

Alison,

You are spot on with this podcast! Thank you for bringing this forward. I have twin 1 year sons and know the challenges of recording at home, staying motivated and all the while... remaining in balance:)

With gratitude,

David

Really interesting - one of the hardest things can be juggling freelance voice over work with the day job! Working in the radio industry does help, but most of my time is spent focusing on my programme and Alison's tips are helpful so as to keep focus on each job in hand.

Hi Alison,
Thanks a ton for the information you have given us! Maintaining a full-time job while working from home has been extremely difficult, fulfilling and also a a lot of fun. Staying motivated is probably the most difficult part of working from home. I have discovered writing little positive messages on post-its are helpful reminders that we must continue working diligently and maintain consistency to become successful. Thanks again for the Pod-cast, I look forward to the next.
